Job summary

Soho House is hiring a Kitchen Porter to support a busy kitchen by cleaning and maintaining kitchenware, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met, and helping with waste disposal and organisation in back-of-house areas.

You will contribute to a clean, well-organised kitchen while enjoying weekly pay, staff meals, membership, generous discounts, health and dental plans, and opportunities for training and events.

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile venue.
• Reliable, friendly and a team player.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware in line with daily operational needs.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas.
• Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift.
• Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices in line with UK regulations (including HACCP).
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting during peak service times.
• Handle kitchen equipment and items carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory integrity.
• Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials where required.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
