Job summary

Soho House is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support hygiene and safety standards in a busy kitchen environment in the United Kingdom. The role covers cleaning and maintaining kitchenware, waste management, and keeping back-of-house areas tidy and organised.

You will work with the kitchen team to replenish stock, follow SOPs, and ensure safety protocols are followed, including HACCP guidelines. Training and development opportunities are provided to advance technical and managerial skills.

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile venue.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware in line with daily operational needs
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas
• Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift
• Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices in line with UK regulations (including HACCP)
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting where required during peak service times
• Handle kitchen equipment and items carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory integrity
• Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials where required.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
