Job summary

The Bedford Hotel Belfast is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. You will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in all kitchen areas under the Head Chef's guidance.

You should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, able to work independently, and flexible to cover different shifts, including weekends. Training and development opportunities are provided.

COSHH awareness and PPE use are required, with support for health and safety in the kitchen.

• Previous kitchen porter experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest cleanliness in all kitchen areas by following established procedures.
• Support the Kitchen Team with tasks as required.
• Ensure pot-wash areas and utensils are cleaned promptly and thoroughly.
• Assist in stock taking and storage of stock, including checking deliveries.
• Follow Health & Safety, COSHH regulations and PPE guidance.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties within the department.

With 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms, The Nineteen Hundred Restaurant and Café Bar, and exclusive private dining in The Ledger Library, The Bedford Hotel Belfast is setting new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.

Role Responsibilities:

AsaKitchenPorter,you’llmaintainthe highest standards of cleanliness in all kitchen areas by followingestablished procedureseach day set by the Head Chef.

• You’llhave a positive mentality and can-do attitude supporting the rest of the Kitchen Team with any tasks asrequired.
• To work the sections, ensuring that pot-wash standards are dealt with efficiently, always ensuring utmost cleanliness.
• Display efficient working practices and ensure all the kitchen, utensils, cookware, and crockeryareproperly cleanedin a timely manner.
• Support the Head Chef with stock taking and storage of stock, including checking deliveries.
• Toassistin ensuringa high levelof Health & Safety,cleanlinessand food hygiene and to ensure that safe working practices are followed.
• Be aware of COSHH regulations and use of PPE.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.

Key Requirements:

• Previousexperience preferred.
• To be able to work in a fast-paced environment and to enjoy it.
• To be able to work independently, being self-motivated to complete the tasks.
• Flexibility - to enjoy working different shift patterns and seeing the operation on different days of the week including the weekends.
