Job summary

Doubletree by Hilton Belfast City at Ten Square is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen. You will clean crockery, cookware and glassware, and ensure items are washed, dried and stored to the highest standard.

You will also help with cleaning tasks, maintain the cleanliness of the refuse area, observe health and safety rules, wear a clean uniform, and support chefs as needed. A proactive, hygienic approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have right to work in UK.
• Must have good understanding of English language.
• Must have at least 6 months experience as kitchen porter.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry and store crockery, cutlery & glassware.
• Clean pots, pans & equipment and store them properly.
• Carry out cleaning duties as outlined in standard procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of the refuse area and ensure bins are emptied regularly.
• Be aware of hazardous substances and wear protective clothing as directed.
• Adhere to reasonable requests from management or chefs.
• Participate in training and team exercises to improve standards and performance.
• Wear a clean uniform and maintain high personal hygiene and grooming.
• Observe health and safety regulations.
• Maintain the company's equal opportunities policy and ensure a neutral working environment.
• Keep staff/work areas tidy, report hazards or incidents to management.

About the role

• To ensure all items of crockery, cutlery & glassware are washed properly, dried and stored correctly.




• Cleaning of pots, pans & equipment, and their storage




• To carry out cleaning duties as outlined in standard procedures.




• To maintain cleanliness of refuse area and ensure kitchen bins regularly emptied.




• To be aware of hazardous substances and to ensure that relative protective clothing is worn, and directions followed.




• To adhere to any reasonable request from management or chefs




• To participate in any training and personnel exercises designed to improve standards and performance.




• Wear clean suitable uniform at all times and ensure a high level of personal hygiene & grooming.




• Observe all requirements under Health & Safety regulations.
