Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for.
  • Delivers meals and other catering supplies to various areas in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the basic preparation of food items.
  • Ensures all cleaning within the kitchen and catering areas complies with standards.
  • Maintains a clean environment throughout the home in line with operational standards.
  • Undertakes other duties as designated by the Chef or Cook.
Job description

Longfield Care Home offers a welcoming environment with specialised care for residents across two units. We support 35 General Nursing residents in the Foyle and Faughan Units, alongside 11 Residential Dementia residents in the Moore Suite. About the Role

The Kitchen Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, ensuring that residents receive high quality meals and dining experiences. Working as part of the Kitchen team, reporting to the Chef, the role is about more than preparing and serving meals; the Kitchen Assistant supports with ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met in addition to contributing to a safe and positive working environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
  • Delivers meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Under direction, assists with the basic preparation of food items.
  • Ensures all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas (as appropriate) is completed and complies with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
  • Delivers and maintains a clean and tidy environment throughout the home in line with operational standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
  • Undertakes any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef or Cook.
