Job description

As a Manufacturing Key Operative - Production at our Lowlands site, where we grow up to 4 million plants every year, you’ll work with the Production team to produce great quality products in a safe and efficient way. Tasks may include picking, collecting and moving goods using manual handling equipment with loads of up to 100kg. This could also include using a fork lift truck. You can expect to do up to 30,000 steps per day in this role!

You’ll aim to complete all tasks efficiently in order to reduce waste, and will handle and package products in accordance with all relevant safety standards. You’ll also need to work flexibly to support all areas of the business, and regular maintenance such as weeding, cleaning and trimming back products.

About you

You’ll be the kind of person who:

  • Is able to work in a nursery environment exposed to outside elements which could include temperature fluctuations from minus 10 degrees to up to 50 degrees in the greenhouses during summer
  • Can work in a range of weather conditions from wet and windy, dusty and hot, with exposure to UV radiation
  • Is able to work in a fast paced environment producing quality products for customers
  • Has a fork lift truck licence
  • Is flexible, adaptable and able to work under pressure
