Platinum Recruitment Consultancy is seeking a Junior Sous Chef near Sudbury to join a prestigious country hotel and lead with a strong kitchen team. The role includes a £32,000 base salary plus a share of tips and live-in accommodation, with opportunities to advance alongside an experienced kitchen brigade.

The position targets a passionate chef ready to take on responsibility in a two Rosette environment, offering excellent staff benefits and career progression within a luxury setting.

Qualifications

• Ambitious chef ready to take on more responsibility.
• Experience in AA Rosette-awarded establishment.
• Confidence across all kitchen sections, including food preparation.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to support, coach and develop junior team members.
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Previous experience as Chef De Partie would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support senior kitchen team in delivering exceptional food and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
• Assist Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in delivering high-quality food.
• Help run day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Supervise junior chefs and kitchen porters during prep and service.
• Maintain organized, collaborative kitchen environment.
• Cover breakfast duties when required.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and allergen regulations.
• Maintain food quality, presentation during busy services.
