Job summary

Barfoots invites cheerful, motivated individuals to join its IT team in an entry-level role. You will gain hands-on experience supporting colleagues across our busy, multi-site operation, learning from experienced IT professionals while contributing to day-to-day system maintenance.

From setting up devices to assisting with user accounts and helpdesk processes, this role is ideal for someone starting their IT career who is keen to learn, communicate well and work as part of a friendly team.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent including English, Maths and IT.
• IT-related qualification (A Level, BTEC, T Level or equivalent) would be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 and computer hardware.
• Genuine interest in IT, technology and troubleshooting.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A logical approach to problem-solving and good attention to detail.
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support to colleagues via telephone, remotely and in person
• Answer incoming IT support calls, logging and managing requests through the IT Helpdesk
• Keep the Helpdesk and users updated on the progress of support requests
• Assist diagnosing hardware, software & general IT issues, coordinating repairs where necessary
• Set up, install and configure laptops, PCs, mobile devices and other IT equipment
• Support routine maintenance, software updates and system checks
• Assist with user account administration, password resets and access permissions
• Liaise with external IT providers when additional technical support is required
• Maintain accurate records of support activities, actions taken and time spent
• Assist with IT training and guidance for colleagues
• Support the wider IT team with system upgrades, projects and improvements
