A financial services firm in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking for a Junior Financial Crime Analyst. This entry-level position focuses on identifying and investigating suspicious activities related to fraud and money laundering. This is a 6 month fixed term contract.
Junior Financial Crime Analystis an entry level position, ideally suited to someone looking to develop their career in banking/financial services, gaining knowledge in anti-money laundering initiatives, focused on reducing financial crime.
The team comprises of naturally curious people with an eye for detail and the ability to identity patterns and trends in consumer behaviour. Providing expertise to control fraud losses across the business whilst preventing and detect financial crime, you would be expected to respond to, and investigate suspected fraudulent incidents affecting our customers, as well as proactively identifying financial crime trends to help drive Pockit’s financial crime prevention strategy.

The completion of investigations into instances of suspicious activity to fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing
How to become a point of contact for 3rd parties reporting instances of suspicious activity to Pockit
Actively review transaction monitoring alerts for incoming and outgoing payments and transactions to identify unusual and suspicious activity
Learning how identify and effect continuous improvements within financial crime systems to improve accuracy and efficiency
Supporting others on the delivery of tasks within agreed timescales and SLA whilst maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
And to offer support in the completion of reasonable tasks in other areas or departments when needed
At least 6 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English, Grade 5 or higher
Work experience in a consumer facing role, ideally in a sector akin with financial services, banking or similar.
Used to working to deadlines or targets
Offer strong analytical skills to investigate and interrogate a problem or a query.
To be comfortable in following a process whilst applying knowledge and logic to each situation.
To have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and spoken).
The primary place of work is our office in Newcastle City Centre.
The role will be expected to be in the office 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday).
