Are you interested in coding and want to start your career in software development? Nottinghamshire Police is looking for a motivated Junior Application Developer to join our Information Services team.

What’s the Role About?

You’ll help build and look after software that supports our police force. You'll work with experienced developers, learn new skills, and help solve problems for real users.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Help create and maintain computer programs using .NET and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Write simple, secure, and testable code with guidance from senior developers.
  • Take on small development tasks and contribute to team projects.
  • Join code reviews and team activities to grow your skills.
  • Help investigate and fix bugs and service issues.
  • Create technical documentation and share knowledge with the team.
  • Work with colleagues to understand user needs and deliver practical solutions.
  • Learn about information security and apply best practices to your work.
What You’ll Need
  • Knowledge of Microsoft .NET, ASP, C#, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, REST APIs, and SQL.
  • Experience or awareness of DevOps practices and tools (training provided).
  • Ability to design, code, test, and document simple programs under supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills on the job.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
