About us

Fine Art Restoration Company protects and preserves artwork and specialist objects from across the United Kingdom. Alongside our work with private collectors and public institutions, we work closely with insurance companies, loss adjusters and damage management firms to support both our insurance partners and their clients following incidents such as fire, flood, impact or accidental damage.

In these situations, our role is to provide calm, expert guidance and practical solutions, from initial assessment through to conservation, delivery and reinstatement, helping insurers and their clients navigate what can often be a stressful and time-sensitive period. With fully equipped studios in Cumbria and London, and a nationwide collection and delivery service, we manage a high volume of complex and high-value insurance claims.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team as our insurance-related work continues to expand. As a Junior Claims Handler, you will support the day-to-day management of insurance claims, helping ensure work progresses efficiently from enquiry through to completion. The role is based full time at our Carlisle studio and works closely with senior claims and operations staff.

You will play a key role in keeping claims organised, accurately tracked and properly administered, supporting both our insurance partners and their clients, while allowing senior team members to focus on site visits, client liaison and complex case management.

Key responsibilities
  • Assist with the administration and coordination of insurance claims
  • Track claims progress and maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Assist with insurance-related invoicing and associated administration
  • Work closely with internal teams to support efficient and coordinated claim handling
  • Support communication with insurers, external contractors and policyholders throughout the claims process
  • Ensure claims information is up to date and clearly documented
Development and progression

This role offers a strong foundation in claims handling within a specialist conservation business. As experience develops, there is clear scope to take on increased responsibility and progress into more senior claims or operational roles, aligned with individual strengths and business needs.

About you
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Confident managing administrative tasks and multiple cases simultaneously
  • Comfortable working with systems, records and financial information
  • Professional, reliable and clear in written and verbal communication
  • An interest in insurance, operations or working within a specialist environment
  • Previous office or administrative experience desirable, but not essential
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable
Why join us

You’ll gain hands-on experience in insurance claims within a specialist and respected conservation business, working closely with insurers, loss adjusters and restoration professionals. This role offers genuine development opportunities as the business continues to grow.
