A global specialty insurance provider in Manchester is seeking an Application Support Specialist to manage daily support and operations of business applications. This role involves solving incidents, coordinating system upgrades, and supporting audits. Ideal candidates will have some experience with SQL Server/T-SQL and a proactive attitude towards learning. The company offers a competitive salary along with a flexible hybrid working model.
This role is in the application support team in the IT department and will be responsible for the day-to-day support and operations of our business applications. The role will be actively involved in BAU support, assisting with project implementations, managing system maintenance and upgrades, and working on Incident, Problem and Service requests.
Some experience of SQL Server/T-SQL to investigate process issues and perform data query and extraction
Self-starter with a willingness to learn new skills and technologies, and an eye for detail
Adaptable to new/different strategies, programs, technologies, practices, cultures, etc. Comfortable with change, able to easily make transitions
Able to demonstrate understanding of application error investigation basics (e.g. application configuration, database connections, Windows/Windows Server environment knowledge)
Capable of managing changing priorities and workloads reflecting business needs
