Responsibilities

As a Joiner, you will be the go‑to expert for delivering a wide range of repairs, maintenance, and project works across our sites. You will play a vital role in keeping our facilities safe, efficient, and fit for purpose – supporting both our military and civilian colleagues.

You will carry out everything from plumbing repairs to building maintenance, grounds work and drainage solutions, ensuring our clients receive the highest level of service every time.

You will work closely with the Built Estate Manager, taking ownership of your daily schedule, using your initiative to deliver results, and providing valuable feedback to help improve our service. You will carry out repairs and maintenance to a variety of building services and use your multi‑skilled experience to handle minor plumbing, building and grounds tasks.

You will support refurbishment, planned, and reactive maintenance works, take ownership of your work, and make informed decisions on repair solutions. Accurate documentation, both electronic and paper‑based, will form part of your daily duties.

You will also mentor apprentices, liaise professionally with the MOD, DIO and supply chain partners, and always ensure health, safety and compliance standards are maintained. Regular participation in team briefs, toolbox talks and training sessions will also be required.

Qualifications

A trade background in one or more of the following disciplines: Joinery, Electrical or Plumbing.

You must hold a full UK driving licence and have previous experience in a handyman or semi‑skilled maintenance role.

You should demonstrate a can‑do attitude, the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Reliability, pride in your work and a strong sense of responsibility are essential.
