Choice Teachers is seeking a reliable IT Technician for a small secondary school in the Stockport area. You will ensure IT equipment is maintained and ready for daily use, providing technical support to staff and students and assisting with classroom technology.

The role offers full-time hours with a view to permanent appointment for the right candidate and requires a proactive, customer-focused approach to problem-solving in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line IT support to staff and students.
  • Set up, maintain and troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers and other technology equipment.
  • Support classroom technology, including interactive displays and audiovisual equipment.
  • Install software and carry out routine system updates.
  • Assist with maintaining the school's network, user accounts and devices.
  • Keep an inventory of IT equipment and report faults or replacement requirements.
  • Respond promptly to technical issues and help minimise disruption to teaching and learning.
  • Work alongside external IT support providers when required.

Job description

Choice Teachers are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and proactive IT Technician to join a friendly team at a small secondary school in the Stockport area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems and supporting staff and students in a busy school environment.

This full-time position will commence on Monday 2nd November 2026 and offers the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff for the right candidate.

The Role

As an IT Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the school's IT equipment and technology resources are maintained and ready for daily use. Working closely with staff, you will provide technical support across the school and help create an effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line IT support to staff and students.
  • Set up, maintain and troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers and other technology equipment.
