IT Technician – Dynamic IT Support Role in Norwich

As an IT Technician, you will be a key player in maintaining and enhancing IT infrastructure that supports both onshore offices and offshore installations. From diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues to configuring new systems, your expertise will help keep operations running smoothly. This position demands flexibility, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional IT service — all within a collaborative and constantly evolving team setting based in Norwich.

Required Skills
  • Proficient in Windows 10 and 11 OS deployment and support within an Active Directory environment
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerShell scripting
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Office 365 suite
  • Skilled in Microsoft Active Directory user account management
  • Understanding of NTFS permissions, local and Group Policy Object (GPO) security policies
  • Hardware expertise including board-level support and configuration for desktops and laptops
  • Experience supporting PC peripherals, such as printers
  • Solid foundation in networking technologies including TCP/IP, 802.1X, VLANs, DHCP, and DNS
  • Awareness of Information Security best practices and conceptual understanding of antivirus, URL filtering, and spam identification
  • Familiarity with business audio-visual systems like projectors and conferencing solutions
  • Knowledge of backup methodologies and availability monitoring tools
Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience working with offshore or remote sites
  • Exposure to backup process management
  • Understanding of compliance with corporate policies and Health & Safety guidelines
  • Vendor certifications such as Microsoft or CompTIA
Preferred Education and Experience
  • BTEC or NVQ level qualification or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA) preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar IT support technician role
