Job summary

Jago Consultants is seeking an IT Support Technician to join their Southampton team. The successful candidate will support a base of SMB clients, troubleshoot IT and communications issues, and work with colleagues and vendors to resolve problems.

Requirements include 3+ years in a service desk, Office 365 and Active Directory knowledge, and a clean UK driving licence. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and a birthday day off.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years service desk experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
• Microsoft Office 365 knowledge and Active Directory proficiency.
• Familiarity with remote access (VPN) and basic networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Meet SLAs/turnaround times.
• Troubleshoot, identify, document user issues and fixes.
• Collaborate with colleagues and vendors to resolve problems.
• Maintain accurate records including timesheets.
• Stay updated on technologies and complete ongoing training.
• Resolve day-to-day IT issues; travel on-site as needed.
• Provide desktop build support and hardware/printer knowledge.

Job description

IT Support Technician required. My client is an outstanding IT support firm who provide IT services, telecoms and document solutions to businesses focusing on building long term relationships with our customers and operating as your outsourced best practice IT in-house department.

They are now seeking a skilled IT Support Technician to join their friendly team based in Southampton to support their base of small & medium-sized business clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate drive & determination, and should have a proven track record of successfully addressing IT and Comms issues.

• Meeting established Service Level Agreements or turnaround times
• Identify, troubleshoot. and document user issues & fixes
• Working with colleagues and occasionally with vendors to resolve customer problems
• Maintaining accurate records including timesheets
• Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and undertake ongoing training
• Resolving day to day IT issues
• Occasionally travelling on-site to resolve issues
• Full UK clean driving license
• Minimum 3 years service desk experience
• To hold a microsoft qualification / excellent knowledge of Microsoft software (Office 365)
• Active Directory knowledge
• Basic networking knowledge (IP Addresses, DNHS, DHCP)
• Understanding remote access (VPN & two factor authentication)
• Understanding of desktop security and anti-virus solutions
• Good understanding of software builds, and hardware / printers
• Excellent communication skills & ability to work on their own initiative
• Monday to Friday – full time
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays & additional day off on your birthday
