Are you a Band 5 Nurse wishing to progress into a specialty, or are you a current Band 6 wishing to further hone your skills?

We are looking for Nurses that are passionate about infection prevention and control (IPC), ensuring your patients receive excellent quality care at all times to join our friendly team. Bring your passion, enthusiasm, commitment and expertise to make a difference every day.

The post-holder will be able to use their knowledge and experience of infection prevention and control to support compliance with Regulation and Governance Standards and improve Standards of Care and Clinical Practice.

You will need to be registered with the NMC and demonstrate IPC experience in your current role.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will require the ability to establish credibility and influence across the Trust, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to deal with complex matters and situations as they arise. Working autonomously within a team, the post-holder will take responsibility to ensure high standards of IPC are delivered, act as a role model as well as undertaking audits, risk assessments and providing expert IPC advice and support to all areas of the Trust including services ranging from community nursing to specialist community clinics as well as our inpatient wards.

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be effective at motivating others to deliver safe care and reduce the incidence of infection.

The post will involve the collection and analysis of data, writing of reports, development and delivery of training and presenting to groups. Excellent IT skills, proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and web based applications is required.

This post requires travelling around the County and region and therefore the ability to meet the travel requirements of the post is essential.
