Our global sector teams include Consumer, FIG, Industrials, Natural Resources and Power, and Financial Sponsors.

Role overview

As part of Debt Advisory team and involved in the origination and execution of debt advisory mandates which are either standalone or part of M&A and/or Standalone (M&S) mandates. The role reports to MD Head of Debt Advisory.

Key objectives critical to success
  • Works closely with industry and geographical coverage teams, aiding in structuring and raising of debt capital in the context of M&A transactions or stand-alone refinancing / debt raises
  • Keeps close contact with the clients, understand their portfolios and financing needs (growth, capex, maturity etc)
  • Develop a deep understanding and network of potential lenders
  • Produce content and deliver marketing and transaction execution
  • Candidate to take responsibility for all phases of transaction execution as the main execution contact, and escalates pinch-points in transactions to the superiors as and when necessary
  • Candidate to manage junior resource workstreams with respect to modelling, due diligence, and marketing material preparations
  • Candidate expected to lead negotiation with lenders on the terms of financial agreements on behalf of the clients
  • Working with MDs/EDs will lead pitch preparation and support in pitch delivery
  • Keeps abreast of market opportunities and support and, from time to time, leads marketing efforts
  • Develop and maintain client relationship
  • Train and develop junior bankers; participate in recruiting and talent management initiatives
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
  • Experience of working within Investment Banking, Transaction Services or boutique advisory firm
  • Distinctive academic record: consistently highly rated versus their peer group
  • Desire to learn and contribute to originating and executing high profile debt advisory mandates
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills - ability to interact confidently with clients and other professionals
  • Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups or regions
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment in order to meet deadlines
