About Codec

Codec is an award‑winning digital transformationcompany. We are growing our "Pro Code" team and looking for motivated developers who want to master the Microsoft Cloud stack. This is the ideal environment for a developer with a few years of experience to accelerate their career, working alongside Principal Architects on large‑scale enterprise projects.

The Role

We are looking for a capable Intermediate Full-Stack Developer to join our delivery squads. You are the engine room of the project. You will be responsible for developing high‑quality, testable code for public‑facing portals and internal business applications. You will work across the full stack—building responsive front‑ends in Angular or Blazor, and robust back‑ends in C# on Azure. This is a role for a learner‑doer; someone who can take a technical specification and turn it into working, polished software.

Key Responsibilities
Development & Delivery
  • Feature Build: Develop scalable web applications using the Microsoft UI stack (Razor/Blazor) or Angular 15+.
  • Back‑End Engineering: Build and maintain REST APIs and background services using .NET C#, Azure Functions, and Azure App Services.
  • Database Operations: Write efficient queries and handle data operations for Cosmos DB (NoSQL) and SQL Server.
Quality & Testing
  • Code Reliability: Write robust unit tests to ensure your code is reliable and bug‑free before it hits the QA team.
  • Defect Resolution: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and performance issues in existing applications.
  • CI/CD Participation: Engage with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines to ensure smooth delivery of your features.
Collaboration
  • Team Work: Collaborate with Solution Architects and Senior Developers to understand requirements and refine specifications.
  • Growth: Actively participate in code reviews to learn from senior peers and improve your own coding standards.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Skills & Experience
  • Development Experience: 3-6 years of experience in web application development.
  • Core Stack: Strong proficiency in C# .NET and experience with REST APIs.
  • Front‑End: Solid working knowledge of Angular 10+ OR the Microsoft UI Stack (Razor/Blazor). You should be comfortable with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Cloud Basics: Exposure to Azure infrastructure (App Services, Azure Functions) is highly desirable.
  • Database: Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Testing: Experience writing unit tests (e.g., xUnit, NUnit, Jasmine).
Location & Eligibility
  • Hybrid Working: Codec supports hybrid working; however, on‑site working will be required where expected by customers.
  • Right to Work: Candidates must be currently located in Ireland or the UK with existing Right to Work approval.
