The Senior Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) Manager (15 Month FTC) will lead the scoping and delivery of HEMA and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) projects, as well as contributing to developing the position of the CGT Catapult as a trusted Collaborator and thought leader in the field of cell and gene therapy commercialisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of HEOR and HEMA projects, including:
- Mobilising and steering HEMA team members allocated to a given project and ensuring their deliverables are in line with agreed quality, time and cost specifications
- As part of project delivery, take ownership of client interactions; ensure client satisfaction
- Take ownership of all necessary internal communications with business development, legal, finance, and PMO teams related to initiating, reporting progress, and closing projects
- Undertaking reviews of relevant clinical and health‑economic evidence, clinical guidelines and Health Technology Assessments (HTAs)
- Conducting cost‑utility and budget impact analysis
- Leading on the methodological approach for the analysis, including:
- Identifying relevant secondary sources of information
- Identifying relevant candidates and developing discussion materials for primary research
- Conducting primary research interviews
- Developing reports in Word and PowerPoint, including methodology, findings, conclusions and recommendations on topics related to optimisation of pricing, reimbursement, and market access for novel cell and gene therapies
- Help develop the position of the CGT Catapult as a thought leader in the cell and gene therapy field by:
- Identifying sector‑specific challenges that need to be addressed and strategies to enable a sustainable environment for the growth of the industry
- Drive reimbursement and market access‑related environmental shaping initiatives in the UK and internationally through the CGT Catapult internal and external Collaborator networks
- Drive publication of peer‑reviewed articles relevant to cell and gene therapy reimbursement
- Present at conferences and webinars
- Support the CGT Catapult's commercial activities:
- Communication of the HEMA frameworks used to deliver projects, to ensure the business development team have the evidence (case studies) to drive sales
- Participating in business development activities, e.g. meetings and discussions with potential Collaborators to drive sales of HEMA projects
- Engage with potential clients to understand their needs and propose relevant offerings, scope projects and methodological approach, develop business development proposals by working closely with the business development team
- Work closely with other Access Strategy teams in developing offerings, promotional materials, and proposals of integrated adoption services
- Responsible for the line management, mentoring and performance management HEMA team members
Experience
- Extensive experience from consulting, industry, or other relevant roles within the life science sector
- Experience in healthcare technology evaluation and in reviewing clinical and health‑economic evidence
- Demonstratable experience in building, testing, and running health economic models for cost‑utility and budget impact analyses
- Experience in independently delivering pricing, reimbursement, and market access analyses for the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on highly specialised hospital products
- Experience in liaising effectively with key market access stakeholders and the wider CGT industry

- Expert understanding of the market access pathways relevant to highly specialised hospital products across EU5 (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK) as well as the US

Education / Qualifications
- Educated up to postgraduate level within a Life Sciences and / or Business subject
- A master's degree in health economics and health policy is desirable, alternatively attendance of shorter courses in health economic modelling
