Overview

Interim Management Accountant
Location: Preston (4 days on site preferred, minimum 2-3 days)
Day Rate/Salary: Equivalent to £55,000
Duration: 3-6 months initially, with scope to extend

An opportunity has arisen for a Interim Management Accountant to support a growing organisation during a period of transition. Working closely with both the People and Finance teams, this role will suit someone who is hands‑on, detail‑focused, and confident managing end‑to‑end accounting and payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts and associated reporting
  • Oversee the complete payroll process (this is essential for the role)
  • Manage the full payment cycle, including reconciliations and supplier management
  • Quickly get to grips with current systems, identifying areas for improvement
  • Provide oversight and day‑to‑day support to two team members
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative, low‑ego working environment
What We're Looking For
  • ACCA/CIMA
  • Strong experience in payroll management
  • Proven background in management accounting within a fast‑paced environment
  • Comfortable operating in a hands‑on capacity
  • Experience managing or supporting small teams is desirable
  • Ability to build relationships across finance and people functions
