Job description

We are seeking an experienced Interim Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join an established and entrepreneurial mid-sized personal lines insurance company.

This role is ideal for a strategic and hands-on operational leader who can drive change, optimize processes, and enhance overall business performance within a complex, regulated environment. The role could become a permanent one after completion of an initial phase of embedding changes "fixing" following a productivity review; and then creating new and robust capability to support the long term growth and vision of the company.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the operational strategy and execution to support the company’s growth objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
  • Implement and refine processes to enhance customer experience and operational performance.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align operational plans with business goals.
  • Provide leadership to the operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, partners, and clients.
  • Drive the development and implementation of new operational initiatives and projects.
  • Analyze and report on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
The Desired Candidate:
  • Proven experience in a senior operations or COO role, ideally within the insurance sector and ideally within a company offering multi-channel distribution.
  • Strong strategic planning skills with a hands-on approach to execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change within a complex, regulated environment.
  • Experience with transformation initiatives; experience with automation, machine learning, AI and strategic outsourcing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, focusing on efficiency and process optimization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
Why Apply?

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned operations leader to make a significant impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. If you excel in transforming business operations and have a thorough understanding of the insurance sector, we would love to hear from you.
