An innovative social care provider in Scotland is seeking an Intensive Support Worker to join their What If Male service in Glasgow. This role is focused on providing essential support to young people aged 18-25 transitioning into independent living, ensuring emotional and practical assistance. Successful candidates will hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and possess a compassionate approach to their practice. The position entails working an average of 39 hours per week on a rolling rota with various additional perks and training opportunities.

The Quarriers What If Male service office is based in the Southside of Glasgow and we are recruiting an Intensive Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This is a 1 Year Maternity Cover opportunity open to both male and female applicants. You will work as part of a service that supports 12 young people aged 18–25 across dispersed flats in their own tenancies across Glasgow (city-wide support).
Our service is a unique housing support service which provides intensive support to people who have experienced significant trauma in their young lives and who have been affected by childhood experiences, including loss, disruption, and rejection, and alcohol/substance abuse, resulting in long-term effects on their behaviour, health and learning.
As an Intensive Support Worker, you will be supporting people transitioning into independent living within their local communities and providing practical support in all aspects of everyday living including emotional/therapeutic support when required. A key part of the role will be to ensure trust is developed with each individual and that you are a reliable, consistent support to the young people to allow them to gain a sense of security and resilience. There is no supervisory responsibility in this role.
Working pattern: This secondment offers 39 hours per week on an 8-week rolling rota. Shifts are a mix of 8am–4pm & 2pm–10pm, working 4 weekends out of 8. Overnight telephone support is in place, which can offer extra earning potential.
