Job summary

A prestigious motorsport team in the UK seeks a Quality Inspection Support professional to assist the Quality Inspection Manager over the weekend shift. Your responsibilities will include ensuring conformity of manufactured components to specifications, monitoring productivity KPIs, and managing department personnel discipline. Ideal candidates will possess an engineering degree and experience in Quality Inspection or NDT, with a preference for those from the motorsport industry. Job description
Role Purpose (Job Profile):

Weekend (A) - Fri - Sun (33hrs)

To provide day-to-day support to the Quality Inspection Manager of Composite Inspection Department, metallic inspection department and NDT over the weekend shift. Focus on quality inspection of in-house and subcontracted Components to meet our programme delivery. Candidates from either discipline noted above considered for this role with duties in respective discipline to be in parallel with team leader duties.

Main Duties:
  • Ensure all manufactured components conform to design specification using metrology tools, 1st principal measurements or NDT techniques.
  • Ensure department adherence to business-critical process data capture requirements including Time Evaluation System (TES) and the Manufacturing Execution System 9MESTEC.
  • Monitor KPI’s for productivity within the department and enact measures as required to achieve.
  • Escalation of non-conforming parts via the NCR process.
  • Embed best-practice metrology processes or NDT processes to optimise department productivity.
  • Management and operational ownership of department Operational Performance Management system.
  • Manage department personnel discipline and timekeeping.
  • Identify and implement department changes to optimise overall performance and output.
  • Ensure thorough handovers to the next shift to enable seamless transition.
