Qualifications

  • Strong technical understanding of the Insolvency Act, Insolvency Rules, and Companies Act.
  • Ability to handle both contentious and advisory matters.

The Firm

A leading national commercial law firm offering high-quality restructuring and insolvency work. The team advises insolvency practitioners, financial institutions, company directors and corporates on a full spectrum of insolvency and restructuring matters.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable, well-structured insolvency team that offers strong mentoring, varied workstreams and clear progression. The successful candidate will handle a mix of corporate and personal insolvency instructions across contentious and non-contentious matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acting on administrations, liquidations, receiverships and bankruptcy matters.
  • Advising on contentious insolvency including misfeasance claims, TUV, preferences and director liability actions.
  • Drafting and negotiating documentation for insolvency appointments, restructuring proposals and enforcement.
  • Conducting security reviews and advising lenders on enforcement strategies.
  • Managing relationships with insolvency practitioners, lenders and directors.
  • Supporting business development and contributing to team growth.
  • Mentoring junior fee earners as required.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in corporate and/or personal insolvency.
  • Strong technical understanding of the Insolvency Act, Insolvency Rules and Companies Act.
  • Confident handling both contentious and advisory matters.
  • Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills.
  • Able to manage a busy caseload and work independently.
Desirable Skills
  • Exposure to lender advisory, LPA receivership or complex insolvency litigation.
  • Network within the insolvency and restructuring community.
  • Demonstrated interest in business development.
