Job description

An opportunity has arisen for experienced and enthusiastic Physiotherapists to work on our bank, providing a high standard of clinical care to patients on a rehabilitation ward during the increased pressures of winter.

The successful candidates will need to have completed a preceptorship process and ideally have some ward-based experience.

The successful candidates will:

  • Hold a BSc/MSc in physiotherapy.
  • Be registered with the HCPC.
  • Have relevant NHS experience either pre or post qualification.
  • Have a broad base of knowledge and experience in the field of physiotherapy.
  • Be able to prioritise and manage their own workload.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work sensitively and effectively with patients and their carers.
  • Be able to work well both individually and as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Be able to carry out moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day.
  • Have evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Be able to be flexible to meet the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
  • You will work on a ward alongside a wider MDT team, you will carry a varied speciality caseload of patients that require rehabilitation.
  • Patients are admitted to the ward from an acute setting, or stepping up from the community.
  • You will need sufficient experience to work autonomously with long arm senior support.
  • You will need to have varied experience across all fields of physiotherapy.
  • All care provided needs to be evidenced based and personalised to the patient, with the use of goal setting and criteria led discharge.
