Job summary

M&B is seeking a Night Porter to join our team in the UK. The role requires overnight shifts (11pm–7am on site), welcoming guests warmly, and contributing to breakfast setup and front-of-house tasks. You will play a key part in safety, security, and guest satisfaction across our sites.

The ideal candidate is independent, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under pressure, with excellent communication and a passion for great guest service. DBS check is required.

Responsibilities

• Check in late arrivals and walk-ins with a friendly greeting.
• Provide a warm, genuine welcome to all guests.
• Assist with front-of-house cleaning and breakfast setup as needed.
• Keep guest safety and security as a top priority.
• Evacuate guests and team safely in case of fire.
• Answer phone queries and resolve guest complaints to ensure a pleasant stay.

Job description

This is an overnight position, with shifts typically ranging from 11pm to 7am (depending on the site). Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the recruitment process.

WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS ROLE:

• Be the first point of contact when checking in late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Ensure a warm, friendly and genuine welcome to all guests.
• The role is varied and, depending on your site, may include: cleaning tasks within the front of house, external and breakfast areas, setting up the meeting room(s) and breakfast for the next day
• You’ll ensure guest and business safety and security is top priority at all times.
• In the event of a fire, evacuating all guests and team from the business safely and quickly
• Answer telephone enquiries and deal with guest complaints to ensure everyone enjoys their stay.
