Mitchells & Butlers PLC is recruiting a Night Porter to welcome guests and support overnight operations. You will check in late arrivals, maintain a safe environment, and assist with front-of-house tasks across dining and breakfast areas. A DBS check will be part of the recruitment process.

The role requires independence, professionalism under pressure, and a strong guest-service mindset. An eye for detail and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for success on site.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Provide a warm, friendly welcome to all guests.
• Assist with front-of-house tasks and breakfast/setup per site.
• Ensure guest and business safety and security at all times.
• Evacuate guests and team safely in an emergency.
• Answer calls and handle guest queries or complaints.

Job description

This is an overnight position, with shifts typically ranging from 11pm to 7am (depending on the site).

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the recruitment process.

What You'll Do In This Role

• Be the first point of contact when checking in late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Ensure a warm, friendly and genuine welcome to all guests.
• The role is varied and, depending on your site, may include: cleaning tasks within the front of house, external and breakfast areas, setting up the meeting room(s) and breakfast for the next day
• You’ll ensure guest and business safety and security is top priority at all times.
• In the event of a fire, evacuating all guests and team from the business safely and quickly
• Answer telephone enquiries and deal with guest complaints to ensure everyone enjoys their stay.
