Job summary

White Swan Arundel is seeking a dedicated Night Porter to ensure a warm welcome and safe, smooth overnight operation for guests. You will check in late arrivals and walk-ins, maintain a clean front-of-house area, set up breakfast, and support safety and security protocols throughout the night.

The role requires a friendly, professional demeanor, the ability to work independently, and strong communication with guests. Excellent team collaboration and a positive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Provide a warm, friendly and genuine welcome to guests.
• Assist with front of house cleaning, breakfast setup, and general duties as required.
• Ensure guest and business safety and security is a priority at all times.
• In case of fire, evacuate guests and staff safely and promptly.
• Answer phone inquiries and handle guest complaints to ensure a pleasant stay.

Job description

This is an overnight position, with shifts typically ranging from 11pm to 7am (depending on the site).

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the recruitment process.

WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS ROLE:

• Be the first point of contact when checking in late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Ensure a warm, friendly and genuine welcome to all guests.
• The role is varied and, depending on your site, may include: cleaning tasks within the front of house, external and breakfast areas, setting up the meeting room(s) and breakfast for the next day
• You’ll ensure guest and business safety and security is top priority at all times.
• In the event of a fire, evacuating all guests and team from the business safely and quickly
• Answer telephone enquiries and deal with guest complaints to ensure everyone enjoys their stay.
