The Role

Are you passionate about cybersecurity and protecting critical systems and data? James Fisher and Sons is looking for a meticulous and committed Information Security Analyst to become a key part of our innovative IT team.

In this role, you will play a vital part in safeguarding our digital infrastructure. You'll be responsible for monitoring and responding to security threats, implementing robust security measures, and ensuring the integrity of our networks, systems, and data assets.

Principle Accountabilities

• Continuously monitor security systems and networks for potential vulnerabilities and threats.
• Contribute to the continuous development of security tools, technologies, processes, and overall IT capability in the management of security.
• Quickly respond to security incidents, conducting thorough investigations to determine the source and extent of the breach.
• Develop and implement security protocols, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organisation's digital assets.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Scope and support penetration testing and other security checks
• Support the growth in the award of accreditations / certifications such as Cyber Essentials across the JFS Group companies.
• Conduct security training sessions for staff to raise awareness about best practices and emerging threats.
• Keep abreast of the latest security trends, technologies, and threats to proactively protect the organization.
• Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, protocols, and audits.

Qualifications and Experience

• Ideally degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in information security or a related IT role.
• Proficiency in security software, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Keen attention to detail to thoroughly investigate and document security incidents.
