We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated and articulate specialist practitioner in Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence others. The post holder will be a key player in our IPC agenda and will work in collaboration with Directorate leaders across the organisation to ensure robust IPC measures and governance processes are in place and embedded in practice. The post holder will develop a quality, proactive and evidence-based IPC service to prevent and reduce the incidence of infections and implement systems to enhance patient and staff safety across the organisation, acting as a role model at all times. The ability to manage own workload is vital for this role. You must have commitment to influence change and drive progress in the challenging and changing speciality of Infection Prevention. Experience in managing incidents and outbreaks is essential.
We will consider secondment for internal candidates. If you are successful after interview, you must obtain approval from your current line manager to accept the offer. Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or UK GP.
The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist IPC advice and support to staff and teams working both in the acute and community services to ensure adherence to good practice in IPC.
