About the role

Our Commissioning team is excited to welcome Industrial Placement students into the role of Process Commissioning Engineer. This is your chance to gain hands‑on experience, apply your knowledge, and work alongside a supportive team delivering innovative non‑infrastructure projects. You'll collaborate within a multidisciplinary group to ensure successful commissioning and project delivery that meets technical standards, quality expectations, budgets, and deadlines.

This role is a September 2026 start and is fixed for 12 months. You will spend your time split between working on‑site and our Telford location.

What a typical day could look like
  • Developing and promoting environmental best practise.
  • Attending stakeholder meetings and site visits.
  • Attending design workshops, commissioning and Hazop meetings.
  • Developing commissioning strategies.
  • Documenting and record testing and sampling requirement for projects.
  • Defining clear acceptance criteria requirements for projects with the design and delivery teams.
  • Assisting with commissioning documentation and planning.
  • Assisting with commissioning activities on site.
  • Processing sampling, analysis and data collection.
About you

We're looking for placement students who are curious, creative, and ready to collaborate to create change and bring fresh perspectives. You'll bring insights from your education and life experiences, and we'll empower you to make a real impact.

This role is open to those still studying their degree or those who have already completed their degree. We will take applications from those studying / have studied the following subjects:

  • Environmental Science / Environmental Engineering
  • Biotechnology
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Process Engineering
  • Any other degree subjects which closely align with the above

You’ll be digitally confident, a clear communicator, and able to collaborate with others while also taking initiative. We value organisation, attention to detail, and a desire to keep learning.

This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Visa process. Applicants must therefore have, and maintain, an alternative right to work for the duration of employment.
