Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to join our national Hydraulic Engineering team, delivering hydraulic studies and modelling across the UK water sector. You’ll work with multidisciplinary engineers on projects from inception to delivery, developing practical, innovative solutions for resilient water infrastructure.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with hydraulic modelling and analysis, mentor-integration, and contribute to credible reports, drawings and technical documentation while

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Hydraulic Engineering or related field.
• Strong interest in hydraulic engineering within the UK water sector.
• Understanding of fluid mechanics and hydraulic principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Good communication and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of hydraulic studies, calculations and technical assessments.
• Develop and analyse hydraulic models using specialist software such as HADES, VARISM, Flow-3D or equivalent.
• Assist with steady state and transient analysis, pumping system assessments and hydraulic investigations.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and project stakeholders.
• Support site investigations, design reviews and project delivery activities.
• Develop technical capability through mentoring, training and hands-on project experience.
