Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to lead hydraulic studies across UK water infrastructure programs. You will mentor engineers, develop models and reports, and guide optioning from feasibility to construction support.

The role offers hybrid/flexible working and opportunities to shape delivery across multiple sites. Ideal candidates will have a degree in civil/mechanical/hydraulic engineering, strong UK water sector experience, and proficiency with HADES, VARISM or Flow-3D, plus

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Hydraulic Engineering or related discipline.
Proven experience delivering hydraulic projects in the UK water sector or regulated infra.
Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and transient analysis.
Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as HADES, VARISM or Flow-3D.
Experience leading technical delivery on multidisciplinary projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead technical delivery of hydraulic studies across water/wastewater projects.
Guide feasibility, optioneering, detailed design and construction support.
Develop and review hydraulic models, calculations and reports.
Provide guidance on pumping systems, structures and conveyance assets.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver practical solutions.
Support site investigations, design reviews and construction activities; mentor juniors.
