Job summary

Stantec in the UK is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to join our growing team. You will support hydraulic engineering projects across the full project lifecycle, developing practical and innovative solutions for our water sector clients.

You will gain exposure to hydraulic modelling and analysis, work with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to resilient, sustainable water infrastructure across the UK, helping communities and ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Hydraulic Engineering or related field.
• Interest in hydraulic engineering and UK water sector.
• Understanding of fluid mechanics and hydraulic principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Good communication and willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of hydraulic studies, calculations and technical assessments.
• Developing and analysing hydraulic models using HADES, VARISM, Flow-3D or equivalent.
• Assisting with steady state and transient analysis, pumping system assessments and hydraulic investigations.
• Preparing technical reports, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and project stakeholders.
• Supporting site investigations, design reviews and project delivery activities.
• Developing technical capability through mentoring, training and hands-on project experience.
