Job summary

Stantec in the UK is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to lead hydraulic studies across water and wastewater projects, from feasibility to construction support. The role offers responsibility for delivering technically robust analyses and mentoring junior engineers within a nationwide hydraulic team, across Cambridge and other UK locations.

You'll develop models using HADES, VARISM or Flow-3D, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and help shape resilient, efficient infrastructure for

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Mechanical/ Hydraulic Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering hydraulic projects in UK water/regulated infra.
• Strong fluid mechanics and hydraulic structures knowledge.
• Experience using hydraulic modelling software HADES/VARISM/Flow-3D.
• Proven track record leading technical delivery across multi-disciplinary projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic studies including steady state and transient analysis.
• Develop and review hydraulic models, calculations and reports.
• Provide technical guidance on pumping systems and conveyance assets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients on practical solutions.
• Support site investigations, design reviews and construction activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practice.
