Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Traffic Engineer to join our UK & Ireland Traffic Engineering teams, based in Liverpool with a hybrid work model. You will contribute to safer, more efficient transport networks across varied projects from design through to modelling and implementation.

You will gain structured training in software tools like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LinSig, TRANSYT and VISSIM, and work with experienced engineers to develop technical knowledge and professional skills in a collaborative

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil/General Engineering or Geography with 2:1 or above.
• MEng in Civil/General Engineering with 2:1 or above is advantageous.
• MA/MSc in Geography/Transport Planning or related discipline advantageous.
• Master’s in Mathematics or quantitative discipline considered.
• Genuine interest in traffic engineering and transport development.

Responsibilities

• Support design development and technical solutions across project stages.
• Attend site visits, meetings and workshops with clients and design professionals.
• Learn and apply design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LinSig, TRANSYT, VISSIM).
• Develop understanding of digital engineering and BIM processes.
• Progress tasks to increasing levels of responsibility through the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to road design, junction design, cycle facilities and traffic management projects.
• Assist in traffic modelling, signals, signage and road markings.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient transport solutions.
