Job summary

AECOM invites applicants to join our Traffic Engineering team as an Apprentice in London or St. Albans. You will support a range of projects improving safety, efficiency and sustainability of transport networks.

You'll work with experienced engineers, gain practical experience throughout the project lifecycle, and progress toward a recognised qualification with mentoring and on‑the‑job training.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs incl Maths & English.
• Three A-Levels incl Maths and a physical science (degree apprenticeship).
• Interest in traffic, transport or civil engineering and a career in the industry.
• Aptitude for technical software like AutoCAD or 3D modelling software.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design drawings and documentation using CAD software.
• Support traffic engineering and highways schemes from concept to detailed design.
• Collect and interpret traffic data for analyses.
• Assist with highway, street and traffic engineering design including signage.
• Support traffic management and signal design activities.
• Participate in site visits and inspections for data gathering.
• Prepare reports, calculations and presentation materials.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and maintain records.
