Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Town Planner to lead infrastructure planning across the UK, with a focus on DCO projects. The role spans national projects in energy, transport and water, with hybrid working and multiple base offices.

You will oversee planning submissions, advise on consent strategies, and develop client relationships. The ideal candidate holds a Town Planning degree and RTPI membership, with significant experience leading large infrastructure consent processes and expert witness

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Membership of the RTPI or an equivalent professional body.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in the delivery of major development applications.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across various project types.
• Submit and manage planning applications, liaising with local planning authorities and stakeholders.
• Provide planning advice on consent requirements and permitted development rights.
• Write Planning Statements and Design and Access Statements for development applications.
• Lead business development and build client relationships.
