Job summary

AECOM is recruiting a Principal Town Planner to lead planning applications for major infrastructure across the UK, with a strong focus on DCO projects. You’ll work within an established national Town Planning team, benefiting from hybrid working and offices nationwide.

We value experience delivering complex consents, an RTPI membership, and ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams while developing client relationships and winning tenders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• RTPI membership or equivalent.
• Significant experience leading planning applications for large infrastructure projects across different regimes.
• Expert witness experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the delivery of major development applications with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Provide planning advice and prepare feasibility reports, consent strategies, and statements.
• Support business development and client relationship building in target sectors.
• Collaborate with Environmental Impact Assessment teams and stakeholders to drive project success.
• Oversee project management, ensuring quality and health and safety compliance.
