Job summary

AECOM’s Town Planning team is seeking a Principal Town Planner to lead major infrastructure planning across the UK, with a focus on DCO projects. You’ll lead applications, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and advise clients on consent routes, working in a hybrid model with base at multiple UK offices including Manchester.

You’ll shape planning strategies for energy, transport and water projects while developing client relationships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading planning applications for large infrastructure projects.
• Expert witness experience would be advantageous.
• Client focus with strong interpersonal and business development mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver major development applications and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Provide planning advice on consent requirements and development rights.
• Contribute to client relationships and successful tenders.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and environmental assessment teams.
• Oversee project management with quality and safety adherence.
