Job summary

EMBL-EBI in Hinxton near Cambridge seeks an experienced Systems Administrator to manage Microsoft 365, Azure and Intune within a hybrid IT environment. The role includes on‑premises AD, Windows server duties and Windows deployments, with a push to migrate to cloud services where appropriate.

You will also assist with Linux desktop support and automation, contributing to security, reliability and user support across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Microsoft 365, Azure and endpoint management.
• Experience with on-premises Active Directory, DNS and Windows deployments.
• Knowledge of Linux desktop support and automation (Ansible, Puppet, Python/Bash) is a plus.
• Experience with migrations to cloud/hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage Microsoft 365, Azure and related enterprise services securely and reliably.
• Lead endpoint management using Intune, device enrollment and policy enforcement.
• Maintain hybrid infrastructure with AD, Windows servers and VMware environments.
• Plan and execute Windows infrastructure projects and migrations to cloud/hybrid setups.
• Provide technical support and documentation for staff and colleagues.
