Job summary

Systems Administrator

The Opportunity

As Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance and support of a hybrid IT environment spanning on-premise and cloud-based services. You'll work closely with infrastructure colleagues, support technicians and key stakeholders to ensure systems remain secure, resilient and fit for purpose.You'll also act as a senior technical escalation point, mentor junior members of the team and contribute to the ongoing improvement of IT services and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

• Support and maintain virtual and physical infrastructure environments.
• Administer and manage server, storage and network systems.
• Configure and manage backup solutions.
• Manage endpoint deployments and device administration.
• Maintain system security, performance and compliance standards.
• Oversee asset management, hardware auditing and software licensing compliance.

Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services

• Support and administer Microsoft 365 services.
• Manage Microsoft Entra ID and Intune environments.
• Support Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.
• Assist with endpoint management and security policy implementation.

Second-Line Technical Support

• Act as an escalation point for complex technical incidents.
• Troubleshoot advanced workstation, hardware and software issues.
• Support specialist business applications and bespoke systems.
• Perform root-cause analysis and resolution of infrastructure-related issues.
• Diagnose networking, wireless and connectivity problems.

Application & Patch Management

• Review, test and deploy software updates and patches.
• Ensure applications remain secure and operational.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in infrastructure improvement projects.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend best practices.
• Collaborate with external partners and wider technology teams
