Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a Learning and Development Transition Manager to lead mobilisation, transition and delivery of learning solutions within the AFRS programme. You will guide a team of L&D professionals, ensuring training is delivered on time and to high quality, while aligning with defence readiness objectives.

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement across military and civilian partners, with a focus on governance, DSAT alignment and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading learning and development teams and large-scale training delivery.
• Experience supporting mobilisation or transformation programmes in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of DSAT, ESFA requirements and Ofsted frameworks.
• Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders across defence, government or similar complex multi-stakeholder environments.
• Strong governance, compliance and risk management in L&D programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the AFRS learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with mobilisation, transition milestones and readiness.
• Lead and develop a team of learning and development specialists and instructional designers during the transition period.
• Build relationships with military, civilian and business stakeholders to identify learning needs and deliver effective solutions.
• Deliver large-scale training programmes that meet quality standards, requirements and timescales.
• Manage learning-related risks and governance, ensuring DSAT, ESFA and Ofsted standards are met.
• Monitor learning effectiveness and ROI to drive continuous improvement.
