Job summary

Serco Group plc is seeking a Learning and Development Transition Manager within the Armed Forces Recruitment Service (AFRS). You will lead mobilisation, transition and delivery of learning solutions to build capability across a major transformation programme, working with military and civilian stakeholders to ensure colleagues have the skills, knowledge and support they need from day one.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading learning and development teams.
• Experience supporting mobilisation, transition or transformation programmes in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of DSAT, apprenticeship standards, ESFA requirements and Ofsted frameworks.
• Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders across military, Defence or multi-stakeholder environments.
• Strong governance, risk management and operational readiness knowledge in learning programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the AFRS learning and development strategy, ensuring activities support mobilisation, transition milestones and operational readiness.
• Lead and develop a team of L&D specialists and instructional designers with clear direction through the transition period.
• Build relationships with military, civilian and business stakeholders to identify learning needs and deliver effective development solutions.
• Deliver large-scale training programmes that meet quality standards, business requirements and timescales.
• Manage learning-related risks, governance and compliance with DSAT, ESFA and Ofsted standards.
• Monitor learning effectiveness and ROI to drive continuous improvement.
