Job summary

DS Smith Europe is seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join our Caerphilly finance team. You will manage customer accounts, chase payments, and help maintain healthy cash flow across the business.

The role requires strong numerical skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid working is offered with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within B2B Credit Control and Collections.
• Proven track record of reducing aged debt and managing disputes.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and process efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and collect payments on terms.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries.
• Maintain sales ledger records and reconciliations.
• Produce monthly customer statements and reporting.
• Monitor and reduce overdue debt and support cash targets.
• Build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify process improvements in credit control.
• Provide timely information for senior management reporting.
