Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join the Finance team in Caerphilly on a hybrid basis. You will manage customer accounts, drive timely payments, and maintain accurate ledgers while liaising with customers and internal teams to resolve queries and improve processes.

The role focuses on reducing aged debt, producing insightful reports, and supporting cash collection targets within a fast-paced, international business environment. Hybrid working arrangement applies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within B2B Credit Control and Collections.
• Proven track record of reducing aged debt and handling customer disputes.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills to interpret financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts with payments in line with terms.
• Dsenistrate collection activities per Group Credit Policy.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries.
• Maintain sales ledger records and perform reconciliations.
• Produce monthly customer statements and support reporting.
• Monitor and reduce overdue debt to meet cash collection targets.
• Build positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve credit control processes and efficiency.
• Provide timely information to support senior management reporting.
