Job summary

Amey is hiring a Senior Structures Engineer to join the Consulting Structures Team in the South West. You will lead design teams on National Highways schemes, coordinate with clients, and drive project delivery from feasibility to handover across a UK network.

The role requires Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE/IStructE) or equivalent, strong knowledge of DMRB and Eurocodes, and experience in multi-discipline infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with highway bridge design, strengthening, refurbishment and assessment.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE/IStructE is desirable.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team and deliver technically sound engineering solutions.
• Take ownership of projects from quotation to handover.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage a local technical team.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives and attend progress meetings.
• Contribute to bids and work-winning activities; drive health and safety practices.
