Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant for a well-established accountancy practice in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. This role requires strong accounting knowledge and communication skills, with hybrid working available upon completing the training period. Candidates should be working towards an AAT qualification, and experience with accounting software such as Sage and Xero will be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Experience within an accounting role, knowledge of day-to-day transactional accounting is essential.
  • Experience in a practice environment is preferable, but not essential.
  • Strong organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients.
  • Process and post sales and purchase invoices.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Complete VAT returns.
  • Resolve queries from clients.
