Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking an proactive Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support commercial management and cost information delivery. In a hybrid working environment, you will help drive cost control, risk mitigation and contract performance while developing technical capability within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Strong IT knowledge including MS Office and data handling.
• Excellent organisation and prioritisation abilities.

• Strong numerate and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to influence.
• Experience delivering monthly reporting cycles and commercial reports.
• Experience working with SAP.
• Experience working in an office environment and contributing to a professional office culture.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in managing commercial and cost aspects of projects, ensuring cost control, value maximisation, risk management and quality/safety adherence.
• Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and understanding of contractual obligations across all project activities.
• Support management of accurate commercial records, audits, cost assurance and Final Account delivery.
• Identify efficiencies across projects while adhering to alliance and client governance procedures.
• Maintain close working relationships with the Senior QS (Central) and Commercial Managers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance commercial processes, systems and tools.
• Challenge performance, provide commercial insight, and drive actions to improve efficiencies and outcomes.
• Support Early Warning process and Risk Reduction Meetings to mitigate risks and promote proactive risk management.
• Assist with Purchase Order processes, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and budgets.
